There is no doubt that TikTok is one of the most popular short-video sharing apps, but there are few more Chinese apps in this category such as Helo, Likee, Kwai, and Vmate. All these apps have millions of active users. Apart from that, China also has a popular live streaming app which is Bigo Live.

Recently, an app developer from India launched the clone version of the TikTok app called Mitron (Mitron is a popular word used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address people). Within the few days on the release, this app gained over 5 million+ downloads on Google Play Store.

Mitron application was emerging very rapidly as a good alternative to the chinese TikTok app in India but unluckily, Google Play Store recently removed it due to some policy violations and security issues. According to reports, Mitron app was a clone of Pakistani application named TicTic. It is not sure whether Play Store will restore the Mitron app or not.
