The FASTag account is recharged like your mobile number. You should have money in your FASTag account, only then it will make the transaction possible. If you don’t have any amount, you may have to pay extra charges on the toll plaza. So before going on the counter, you should make sure that there is enough money in your FASTag account to pay for the toll tax.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has made it easier to check the balance of your FASTag account directly from your smartphone. There are different methods you can use for this which works on both iPhone and Android. Below we have explained all methods in detail. Now without further ado, let’s begin this tutorial.
1. Check FASTag balance via missed call
NHAI has launched a missed call service by which you can check the balance of your FASTag account. It’s pretty simple. You just have to give a missed call on this +91 88843 33331 number. This is a toll free number so you won’t be charged for it. Once you have made the missed call, you will receive an SMS showing your FASTag account balance. Please note that your mobile number should be linked with the NHAI prepaid wallet for using this service. If you have more than one vehicle linked to it, then it show the total balance of all vehicles.

After each money deduction from your FASTag account at toll, you will be informed about your remaining balance via SMS. You will receive this SMS on the mobile number that you have registered with your FASTag account. Apart from the balance, the SMS also shows other related information. This method doesn’t require to you to do anything but it won’t be useful if you want to know your balance before paying the toll tax.
3. Check FASTag balance via email
Like SMS, you will also receive an email on the email address that you have registered with your FASTag account. It will also contain your balance information. This also works once you have made the payment for your toll tax. You just have to open your email account and there you will find the email containing your recent FASTag payment information including your current balance.
4. Check FASTag balance using My FASTag app
