In this method, you have to take a screenshot of the WhatsApp profile picture you want to download and then you have to crop it. All iPhones and Android smartphones can take screenshots. You can also edit (basically crop) the picture easily by using the phone’s built-in gallery app.

  2. Now to take a screenshot on Android, you just have to press and hold the volume down and power buttons at the same time for a couple of seconds.

The screen will flash white once the screenshot is taken and you will also see a notification in the notification tab.

If you have an iPhone, then you have to press Home and Lock buttons (or the Volume Up and Home buttons on the iPhone X or later versions) simultaneously to take a screenshot.

  3. The screenshot will be saved in your phone’s gallery. Open it and tap the edit icon. There you will find an option to crop the image. Simply, crop the profile picture out of the whole screenshot. That’s it.

This method is based on the previous one, except it uses a third-party app to take a screenshot on your phone. If you find the above method a little tricky, then you can use this one as an alternative.

There are so many screenshot apps available on Google Play Store and one of them is Screenshot Touch. Besides from taking screenshots, this app also allows you to edit the picture with just a few taps. Let’s see how to do it –

  1. Download and install Screenshot Touch app on your Android phone.
  2. Open it and tap the “Start capture monitoring service” button.
